Alanya HEP University, (Alanya Hamdullah Emin Pasha University) takes its name from Hamdullah Emin Pasha, who established the foundation that opened the university.

Hamdullah Emin Pasha donated all his property that included land and tenements to the foundation in order to be used after his death.
The foundation became active in 1968 and some changes were made in the commitments of the foundation in 1995. Since then it has been giving scholarships, building libraries, language labs, sport complexes, dormitories as well as colleges for higher education.
The foundation applied for the opening of Alanya Hamdullah Emin Pasha University in 2009.
The university law was accepted in the Turkish National Assembly in 2011.
Following that, the negotiations for the building started and the foundations were laid in 2011 November in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç.
In January 2014 the building became ready for use of the administrative and teaching staff.
